We are committed to reducing our environmental impact whilst having a boogie at Rockstar Energy presents TRNSMT.

Travel

Travel home cheap and cheerfully, with trains, free bus travel for under 22’s and loads of coaches – it’s a no brainer!  

ScotRail put on extra trains after the event to ensure you can get home safely and sustainably – check timetables closer to the time to make sure you catch one!

Keep the Site Clean & Use the Right Bins

Get it in the bin – help keep the festival looking as class as you do. Snap-worthy selfies don’t come with rubbish in the background.

Use the bins and show the world how stunning TRNSMT can really be. We even turn some of that waste into energy for Scottish homes!

Sustainable Fashion

Shopping sustainably creates better working conditions for people and the planet.

Pick up a vintage polo, have a game of who wore it better with yer pal, or simply choose better quality materials - our fashion choices make a real difference.  

Reduce Plastic Waste

Stay hydrated and help reduce plastic waste.

We've set up free to use water points across the site where you can refill your bottle again and again.

It's super simple… bring a soft or collapsible water bottle and use our water points to keep your bottle filled.

Quick note: Make sure your refillable water bottle is made of soft, collapsible material and holds 500ml or less.

Do not bring single-use disposable vapes. These are prohibited items as they pollute the environment – incorrect disposal can be hazardous at waste centres.

Check Food Carbon Ratings and Go Plant-based

Hank marvin’ mate? Our food choices have a big impact on the environment. Use the TRNSMT app to find insta-worthy scran and check for carbon ratings.

Three quarters of traders in 2024 had at least one plant-based meal on their menu, so there is something for everyone.

We can all Play Our Part by choosing a planet-friendly option and digging into some veggie or vegan goodness!

NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET

Last year’s festival saw record-breaking signups to the NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET movement. Supported by Confidence Man, Tom Walker, HotWax, and many more artists, visit their stall to get a free temporary tattoo and find out more.

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact whilst having a boogie at Rockstar Energy presents TRNSMT.

As proud signatories of the Green Nation Sustainability Charter, we're here to preserve the live music experience for generations to come. Being Scotland's biggest music festival, we're on a mission to use our creativity to drive positive social and environmental change. We’ve already exceeded major targets in the charter, including:

Since 2021, investing in sustainable biodiesel for generators and on-site vehicles, helping us to reduce emissions from generator use.

Between 2022 and 2024, reducing direct emissions from energy by a further 21% through efficiency measures, including moving major parts of our back of house operations to pre-existing infrastructure.

Recycling 69% of our waste in 2024, a 3% increase on 2023.

Not sending any waste to landfill for the past four years.

90% of traders offer a meat-free option, reducing food emissions.

Since 2022, we’ve worked with local organisations including Advanced Clothing Solutions, R:evolve, Police Scotland Youth Volunteers, and Glasgow Eco Trust to help us achieve our sustainability goals.

We're also members of Vision:2025, an amazing network of over 500 outdoor events and businesses that are taking serious climate action. As members, we're all about reducing our climate impact, measuring our emissions annually, and working to share experiences and develop best practices in the events industry.
