DMA's at TRNSMT 2019
Australian three-piece rock band DMA’s play the main stage at TRNSMT next month.
In 2012, the band were formed by Johnny Took, Tommy O’Dell and Matt Mason in Sydney and quickly developed a sound that drew from early-90’s indie rock, with likeness to Oasis and Primal Scream.
The Sydney trio have gone from writing and recording in their bedrooms to living their dream of spending most of the last 12 months almost permanently on the other side of the world, playing packed out gigs to rabid fans, but their attitude is much the same as you imagine it would have been back when they formed in 2012 - taking whatever comes their way with a satisfied shrug.
Their self-titled debut single 'Delete’ climbed the charts and grew their fan base by the thousands as they became iTunes success overnight. 2016 saw the release of their debut album ‘Hill Ends’ and later singles ‘Dawning’ and ‘In the Air’ dropped ahead of their second album ‘For Now’ last year.
The band will release their first live album ‘MTV Unplugged’ next month, recorded back when they played at the Melbourne Memo Music Hall in 2018. Out on the 12th July – the day before they play TRNSMT 2019!

The DMA’s will join Catfish and the Bottlemen and Bastille on the main stage at the festival this year on Saturday 13th July 2019.
