Somebody’s Child’s self-titled debut album, released on 3rd February 2023, was the culmination of years of work. Cian Godfrey had started the project in his native Dublin in 2018 with a series of infectious indie-pop singles that garnered attention both at home in Ireland and across the water in the UK Early support slots with the likes of Primal Scream and Kaiser Chiefs as well as an appearance on The Late Late Show helped to quickly bring SC to the public’s consciousness - and before too long US indie label Frenchkiss Records (The Drums, Passion Pit) came knocking. The LP was produced by Mikko Gordon (Arcade Fire, The Smile) at East London’s Hackney Road Studios, and featured a handful of fan favourites alongside newly-penned material. Upon its release, it garnered positive reviews from the likes of CLASH, The Irish Times and Hot Press amongst others - notable radio support came from RTE 2FM, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music and NPO 3FM in the Netherlands.
